“During the course I found certain phrases of yours coming back to me many times outside of class. Sometimes, these took on huge significance. I think the most impactful was the simply put “Begin again” when breathing in. For me, the whole course can be wrapped up in that. At every breath we take in, there is an opportunity to start all over. Every breath. It’s the key to unstuckness. It’s very simple, and always there. Feeling the body as body, breath as breathing, we travel with everything we need all time. MBSR brought this fact to consciousness; the rest is practice. “ - D.A.

The Science of Safety: Taming Your High-Alert Brain (May 29, 2026)
A Mind-Body Masterclass with Dr. Erin Walborn Sterantino | Audiologist, MBSR Teacher, & Polyvagal Practitioner
Do you feel like your body’s "alarm system" is stuck on high alert?
Whether it manifests as persistent ringing in the ears (tinnitus), chronic tension, or a general feeling of being "on edge," the root cause is often a dysregulated nervous system. When our internal volume is turned up too high, our brain begins to view ordinary sensations as threats, leading to a cycle of distress and exhaustion.
In this seminar, we move beyond just "managing symptoms" to understand the biological language of safety. Drawing on the groundbreaking principles of Polyvagal Theory and Mind-Body Medicine, we will explore how to retrain your system to move from "survival mode" back into "rest and digest."
In this session, you will discover:
- The "High-Alert" Loop: Why a stressed brain magnifies tinnitus, pain, and environmental sounds.
- Mapping Your Nervous System: Learn to identify where you are on the "Polyvagal Ladder" and how to shift states in real-time.
- The Power of Neuroception: How your brain decides if you are safe or in danger, and how to influence that decision.
- Mindful Regulation: Practical mind-body tools and vagal-toning techniques to soothe your system and dampen internal noise.
Who should attend?
This masterclass is open to anyone seeking a deeper connection to their physical well-being, particularly those navigating tinnitus, hyperacusis, or chronic stress.
